This material concerns Kimball's architectural services at Monticello as Chairman of the Restoration Committee and includes project files for the cellar, fire protection system, flagstaff, garden, graveyard, nailery, out chamber, superintendent's house, and water well. The material consists primarily of Kimball's correspondence with other members of the Restoration Committee, especially Milton Grigg, a Charlottesville architect; the officers and board members of the Foundation; and members of the Garden Club of Virginia who were closely involved with the restoration and upkeep of Monticello's grounds. The sub-subseries also contains architectural drawings and photographs.
