These files contain brochures, clippings, correspondence, specifications, and vouchers related to Kimball's work as a member of the Jefferson Memorial Commission. A significant portion of the material relates to the controversial selection of a site for the memorial on the south bank of the Tidal Basin in 1937, and the equally contentious selection of John Russell Pope's pantheon-like design for the memorial.
