Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series:

Kimball served as a juror in the competition for a design of a memorial on the St. Louis river front to mark the western expansion of the United States. The subseries includes official publications of the competition; jury reports; correspondence, primarily with George Howe, advisory architect, and William Wurster, chairman of the jury; photographs of Eero Saarinen's winning design for the St. Louis Arch; lists of competitors; and newspaper clippings.

Pedersen, undertook extensive alterations and an addition to Moors' End, a Colonial home on Nantucket owned by Edward F. Sanderson. In addition, Kimball assisted with the furnishing of the home in period antiques. The sub-subseries contains correspondence, contracts, specifications, and photographs, including several of the house and outbuildings under construction. Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series: Stratford Hall, the birthplace of Robert E. Lee, was built between 1730 and 1738 in the Georgian style. In 1929, the Robert E. Lee Memorial Association was incorporated as a non-profit organization and purchased Stratford, with the intent of restoring the Great House and outbuildings to create a memorial for the General of the Conferderate Army.
