Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series: A result of ten years of study, Kimball's seminal book on the Rococo was published by the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 1943. Noted art historians Lionello Venturi and Erwin Panofsky praised Kimball and his work in distinguishing the Rococo style from the Baroque and for assigning artists to previously unattributed works.
