Museum training course. Final examination. Questions and responses, May 1947
Scope and Contents
This sub-subseries consists of files pertaining to other methods of outreach the museum offered to encourage public attendance, documenting services available for visitors. Most of the membership material, which is the bulk of this sub-subseries, consists of correspondence with various individuals including W. Lawrence Saunders, who served as Chairman of the Membership Committee in the mid 1930s.
The museum offered its first Training Course in 1945 to qualified candidates to study and train from one to three years as preparation for careers in museums. The program did not begin until 1946 and continued for only two terms. The files consist of a variety of materials, including correspondence, course outlines, lecture notes, and submitted exams.
