Scope and Contents

These files were the only ones maintained in Kimball's records as direct mail solicitations, which he apparently referred to as "mail appeals." Files consist of correspondence between Kimball and appeal recipient, as well as mailing lists and related papers.

Conditions Governing Access

The collection is open for research. Because of its fragile condition, the following item may only be consulted with permission of the Archivist: floor plan with annotations of PMA Gothic installations (in "Objects and related topics" series, "European decorative arts and arms and armor" subseries, "Rooms and architectural elements" sub-subseries, "England. Gothic installations at PMA, incl. Abergavenny, Wales" file).

Arrangement

Arrangement is based on what appears to be original order. All correspondence in the 1936 mail appeal file is arranged alphabetically. In other files, correspondence is grouped by contribution amount pledged and alphabetically within each pledge group.
