Consultant correspondence, 1927-1939
Scope and Contents
The first firm documented in these records is the John Price Jones Corporation. The corporation's original 1927 proposal is filed in the General Planning sub-subseries below. Their on-site consultant at the museum was D.K. Rose, who handled the museum's publicity and fundraising and oversaw the campaign to raise funds for the purchase of the Edmond Foulc Collection, which began in March 1930. Rose's proposals regarding the Foulc Collection are filed in the "Specified funding" sub-subseries. Two other plans prepared by Rose have also been transferred from the correspondence files to the "General planning and donor development" sub-subseries. In 1936 the museum retained A.J. Wilde Corporation to develop publicity and a direct mail program to solicit contributions. Although Alfred J. Wilde is listed as the museum's public relations contact as late as the 1942 annual report, only his first three years are represented here.
