Scope and Contents From the Collection:

The collection consists of photocopied letters, articles, book excerpts, receipts, and prints pertaining to individuals and artists involved with both Mexico and modern printmaking. Many of these resources document correspondence between Mexican artists and Carl Zigrosser. The collection also contains biographical information and researcher notes regarding individuals mentioned in the collection, such as Diego Rivera, Jose Clemente Orozco, and David Alafro Siqueiros.

Scope and Content Note From the Sub-Series: The centennial anniversary of the Philadelphia Museum of Art was directly tied to the nation's tricentennial celebrations. In order to pay tribute to the city and the country, Darrel Sewell, the Curator of American Art, coordinated an exhibition that highlighted Philadelphia artists working in all mediums from 1776-1976.
