Scope and Contents
This subseries is comprised of correspondence, photographs, architectural drawings, specifications and other material pertaining to approximately twenty residential architectural projects completed or planned by Kimball primarily during the very early years of his career. Of particular note are the records regarding Dunewood, a cottage community near Traverse City, Michigan, where Kimball designed affordable cottages for professorial colleagues from the University of Illinois. The subseries also includes material on the interior furnishing of Creek Club and the Women's National Golf and Tennis Club, which appear to be part of or related to Francis Garvan's estate on Long Island.
