In 1965, the Museum held a large loan exhibition entitled, "Philadelphia Silver," with pieces dating from 1682 to 1800. The exhibition, held from April 14, 1956 to September 9, 1956, displayed the work of Philadelphia silversmiths, grouped according to maker. 595 objects were included within the exhibition, and they featured the work of both well-known and lesser-known silversmiths, such as Richard Humphreys and Henry Pratt.
