The Stella Kramrisch papers house the correspondence, writings and other research materials of Dr. Stella Kramrisch, curator of Indian art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art from 1954 until her death in 1993. The records in this collection date from 1921 to 1999, and contain information about the art objects in Kramrisch’s personal collection (which were later donated to the Philadelphia Museum of Art), her publications and research.
