Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series: "Henry Ossawa Tanner" was a major exhibition held at the PMA from January 20, 1991 to April 14, 1991. The exhibition was a retrospective of Henry Ossawa Tanner's work, and included both paintings and drawings. Tanner was born in Pittsburgh, raised in Philadelphia, and later settled in France for the remainder of his life. Curated by Darrel Sewell and Dewey F.
