Scope and Content Note From the Sub-Series: Ella Schaap, Curatorial Associate, chose approximately 1500 Dutch tiles from the permanent collection for an exhibition designed to coincide with "Masters of Seventeenth-Century Dutch Genre Painting." The tiles date from 1570 to 1850 and represent one of the earliest forms of mass-produced interior decoration designed for middle class homes.
