The exhibition of fashion commemorated the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Fashion Wing at the museum. The event took place on January 18, 1973. Roast squab with cumberland sauce was served to three hundred guests and the gold ballroom was elegantly decorated in pink. Guests were asked to wear 'past elegance' to the affair.
