The Contemporary Art Department Records are the physical property of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Archives. Biographical / Historical

Formerly known as the Modern and Contemporary Art Department, Contemporary Art became its own department in 2013. Carlos Basualdo joined the museum staff in 2006 as the first curator of Contemporary Art. He currently serves as the The Keith L. and Katherine Sachs Senior Curator of Contemporary Art along with Erica Battle, the John Alchin and Hal Marryatt Associate Curator of Contemporary Art, and Amanda Sroka, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art.
