This collection contains nearly 900 photographs that were received from the Editorial and Graphic Designs Department, dated photographs span the years 1966 to 2000. These photographs document the activity of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and would often be included in the Annual Reports and Bulletins. The collection has been organized into three series; Architecture, Installations and Exhibitions, and People.

“Architecture” contains photographs of the Philadelphia region and has been divided into 8 sub-series. “Drawings, Maps, and Building Photographs” contains a diverse range of photographs, including reproduction copies of historic drawings and maps of Philadelphia, architecture plans and drawings for Philadelphia-area structures, and photographs of local buildings. The remaining sub-series document the specific locations of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Fairmount Part and Houses, Fleisher Art Memorial, Ladew Topiary Gardens, Philadelphia Museum of Art Building, and the Rodin Museum.

“Installations and Exhibitions” documents the activity of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and has been divided into 5 sub-series. Of note,“Special Exhibitions prior to 1985” includes Rafael Ferrer’s execution of "Deflected Fountain 1970, for Marcel Duchamp".

“People” contains 15 sub-series of groups and figures related to the PMA, including 3 for former Directors of the PMA; Anne d’Harnoncourt, Evan Turner, and Jean Sutherland Boggs. Of note, “Artists and Poets” contains several photographs taken by Allen Ginsberg in the 1980’s of friends Robert Creeley, Rene Ricard, Gregory Corso, and Francesco and Alba Clemente.
