Scope and Contents
This series is comprised primarily of copy and vintage prints of Marcel Duchamp and his works. The series also contains a few images of works of art by related artists, specifically May Ray, Raymond Duchamp-Villon, and Rene Bouche. Of particular note is a photograph by John Schiff of Duchamp's "Sixteen Miles of String" installation at the "First Papers of Surrealism" exhibition held in 1942, as well as Schiff's photographs of"Tthe Large Glass" installed in Katherine Dreier's Connecticut home.
