Scope and Contents
Files pertaining to the production of the extensive "Marcel Duchamp" catalog edited by Anne d'Harnoncourt and Kynaston McShine that accompanied the exhibition, as well as material regarding the "Marcel Duchamp" checklist published separately. Includes correspondence with the ten Duchamp scholars and critics who contributed original essays to the catalog, as well as drafts of their essays. Also includes correspondence with the many friends, associates, and admirers of Duchamp who contributed comments and personal statements to the "Collective Portrait" section. Other sections, particularly the preface, introduction, bibliography, chronology, and catalog of Duchamp works, are also documented.
