Scope and Contents
"Pennsylvania Modern" was organized and exhibited at the Philadelphia Museum of Art by guest curator Betsy Fahlman along with Ann Percy and Christine Armstrong of the Prints, Drawings, and Photographs Department. Following its closure at the PMA. The exhibition traveled to the Heritage Center Museum of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh. The show included 38 paintings, drawings, and watercolors by Charles Demuth, many of which were on loan from various institutions and private collections. The bulk of materials in this collection pertain to loans and other subjects include correspondence, budget, publicity and events, and research files.
