Violet Oakley Memorial Foundation, 1976-1998
Scope and Contents
The Violet Oakley Memorial Foundation was organized in 1962 to commemorate the life and works of Violet Oakley in her studio at Cogslea. These records consist of correspondence between the Foundation and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, documentation of a cataloging project, lists, loans, bequests, appraisals, Edith Emerson's will, and the final agreement between the Foundation and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts for transfer of materials in 1986 when the Foundation was dissolved.
