Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

These are the records of Carl Colozzi, Assistant Director for Services, 1967-1979. Subjects are building services, building expansion and usage during this time, as well as special construction for exhibitions and events. Records of building the Student Center, installing the air-conditioning, and rebuilding the American Wing are found here. Included are correspondence, reports, plans, minutes, and construction orders.

Most of the records are correspondence and other papers that were compiled into three chronoligical subgroups: 1965-1968; 1969; and 1974-1980. Folders are arranged alphabetically within each subgroup. There are also approximately 1.5 linear feet of material that pertain to the installation of the air conditioning system in the Museum during the mid-1970s. Most of the files document a legal action regarding damage to the Museum's Lansdowne Room which resulted from the installation. The documents appear to be those generated by the law firm representing the City of Philadelphia on behalf of the Museum. There are several additional files pertaining to the air conditioning installation in general. These contain a variety of materials that range in date from 1973 to 1976.
