World's fairs, 1892-1893, 1932-1933

 Sub-Series

Scope and Contents

World's fairs provided Kimball with yet another source of architectural references. Most of the documentation pertains to the fantastic and fantastical buildings and other monumental structures erected for the 1893 Columbian Exhibition. Clippings, particularly from the American Architect and Building News, comprise the bulk of material. There are also photographs of other published references, some of which include Kimball's notations.
