Appraisal of items at 1914 Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1971

 File — Box: 31, Folder: 2

Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

This subseries contains material pertaining to appraisals and inventories of the estates of John D., Frances P. and Henry P. McIlhenny and Bernice Wintersteen. Of significance are photographs of furnishings at Parkgate, the former home of John D. McIlhenny's collection of art and antiques. These photographs were taken presumably in conjunction with the Federal Appraisal Company's 1910 appraisal.

Also included is insurance-related material, such as policies, invoices, receipts and correspondence with insurance brokers. A significant portion of this material pertains to fine arts insurance and can be found in folders with that title. Some other types of insurance constitute their own folders, while all other insurance material resides in folders titled "various insurance." "Various insurance" is organized into two groups, correspondence and insurance policies, reflecting original arrangement.
