Wells, Suzanne
Biography
Suzanne Wells was the Director of Exhibition Planning. She retired on May 14, 2020. Wells began working at the museum in 1971 in the Department of Decorative Arts after 1700. Her first major international loan exhibition was The Second Empire: Art in France under Napolean III (1978), organized by Joe Rishel and Kathy Hiesinger. Based on that experience, the museum's then-director Jean Sutherland Boggs appointed Wells as the museum's Coordinator of Exhibitions, one of few such positions in the country at the time.
