Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial Records

The records are early documentation of the Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial as it came under the management of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The first two series contain documentation of the transition of the Graphic Sketch Club into the Fleisher Art Memorial and the financials during the transition. The “Structural Changes” series contains correspondence pertaining to renovations done in the buildings. The “Administration” series consists of correspondence and reports written by trustees and Fleisher Committee members about the Memorial's operation. The “Correspondence” series contains correspondence primarily between Julius Zieget and affiliates of the Fleisher Art Memorial. The “Ephemera” series contains items from events held at Fleisher Art Memorial and other institutions, along with newspaper clippings that discuss the Graphic Sketch Club and its transition into the Fleisher Art Memorial.
