PMA exhibition opening. "Robert Adams...photographs of the American West." Dinner, February 17, 1989
Scope and Contents
These files were compiled by d'Harnoncourt's executive assistants and office managers who consecutively worked for her over the ten years represented here. The files primarily document the planning of special events in which d'Harnoncourt took part. Most pertain to exhibition openings at PMA or at the other venues hosting the same show. Several files document the museum's way of saying goodbye to long-term colleagues, and a few deal with d'Harnoncourt's travels. The bulk of material consists of invitation and acceptance lists, menus, and draft ephemera. Researchers should note that similar records for later events were interfiled with d'Harnoncourt's "name and subject," "exhibition" or "remarks" files. Because the files comprising this subseries were originally maintained and preserved separately from d'Harnoncourt's other records, we retained their original order here.
